  • This is our first year working with Edward, and we have been incredibly pleased. Edward prepares thoughtful lessons that challenge our daughter but also make playing the piano fun. Students receive a complete musical education when working with Edward, and his ability to motivate is impressive. Our daughter went from practicing 10 minutes a day to practicing for over 30 minutes with relative ease. She has progressed rapidly due to Edward's teaching style. Edward's passion for music shows in each lesson, and we recommend him to aspiring musicians of all levels.

  • I started with Bemish Green Piano as an adult with decades of musical experience. Initially I just wanted to add some formal structure to my own practice by working with an instructor. Edward helped me in areas I didn’t expect, such as learning to practice efficiently to maximize the effectiveness of my practice. Other topics we worked on were rhythm studies, ear training, music theory and phrasing in improvisation. He was good at observing how I played or even how I thought about music at a fundamental level to figure out how to replace my bad habits with good ones and to learn new concepts. When I was sent out of town for an extended time he was flexible enough to teach remotely. He tailors his instruction to what the student needs, or wants. Most of what I learned from Edward I’ve applied to the other instruments I play and I always try to imagine how he would approach a musical problem. He’s a thoughtful instructor with an engaging sense of humor that is interested in making sure his students are successful.

  • I'm not sure quite where to start; except to say, that I'm "not" a piano student, but rather, a songwriter who was looking to find somebody to work with, in order to give me some professional input for the appropriate chording and progressions for my compositions. Humorous perhaps, but I initially thought that blindly picking Edward out of a Google search was somewhat of a "stab in the dark". As it turned out, that may have been one of the best "stabs" I've ever made. As of this writing, I've had two 90 min. sessions with Edward; both of which were spent on the chording and arranging of one of my songs. I just have to say, that working with Edward was one of the most pleasurable experiences I've ever had. I found him to be, not only extremely professional, but kind, patient and empathetic as well. Can't quite put my finger on it, but Edward seems to have this "low-key demeanor" that just seems to put you at ease, while, simultaneously, finding a way to get you excited about what you're producing. Couldn't ask for better! Luckily for me, Edward has agreed to sit-in on one of our upcoming studio demo sessions. I'm not only looking forward to that, but also looking forward to a continuing relationship with him, on some of my other works, going forward. Henry

  • I’ve been taking lessons with Mr. Bemish for over 12 years, and I’m so glad to have studied at Bemish Green Piano Studio. Lessons here are a perfect combination of challenging and fulfilling. Mr. Bemish teaches you the value of hard work and also the fundamentals of music, giving you a music education that extends beyond the classroom. Through studying here, I’ve also learned how to pass on my knowledge of the piano and I’ve discovered my passion for teaching. I’ve taught multiple students both through the studio and on my own time. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without my years here at the studio.

  • At 56 I figured it was time to venture into the unknown and learn something new, playing the piano. I have always wanted to play an instrument and learn how to read music. Edward has done an outstanding job. He has the ability to share his skill and expertise in a manner that is understandable, informative and enjoyable. I am grateful for his ability to communicate something completely intangible to me in such a way that that the information is retained. I am excited to be learning this new language and very pleased with my progress to date. Edward incorporates piano history into each lesson and that affords me the opportunity to learn more. The instruction is more than notes and keystrokes. Edward is a true professional that has never lost sight of the importance of sharing ones gifts and talents. After a few short months I am more than pleased with the results. I highly recommend Bemish Green Piano!

  • I am very grateful to have found Edward, as he has the patience of a saint. I was somewhat nervous about taking lessons at my age, but he immediately put my fears to rest. He has a great sense of humor and is a talented pianist and teacher.

  • I wouldn’t be the musician I am today if I hadn’t studied with Edward. He’s an incredible improviser and he helped bring out my own improvisation talent that I didn’t know I had. The classical/jazz (you pick) curriculum is also fantastic. Edward integrates high-quality music theory and music history lessons into his lessons, and emphasizes high standards and self-discipline (this aspect of his teaching has carried over into other parts of my life). The experience I had at Bemish Green Piano Studio inspired me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in music theory at Temple University and gave me the music skills and self-discipline necessary to excel there. I highly recommend Bemish Green Piano Studio to anyone who wants to study music in a serious way.

  • Edward is an excellent and wonderful teacher as well as a professional musician. My daughter learned well from him and enjoyed his teaching methods. He made sure she understood her key notes, ques, and guided her steps via work notes and practices. She had fun learning and appreciates his humor when teaching. I highly recommend Bemish Green Piano Studio!

  • I’m legitimately grateful to have Edward Bemish for my sons’ teacher. His attention to detail, thoughtful and comprehensive approach, and of course his brilliant expertise have truly inspired my boys to advance their skills. I’ve noticed a marked improvement in both their abilities as well as their enthusiasm and I truly enjoy attending their lessons. The music is a delight to listen to and it’s even more so exquisite because I know how hard earned it has been for my boys. I love how the lessons they learn in studio apply to life outside of piano. I love how Mr. Bemish is encouraging, even when he needs to be critical to help them improve. I love to watch their confidence grow with the material Mr. Bemish works on with them over time. It’s beautiful.

  • I have wanted to learn how to play the piano and started at an older age with Edward Bemish. I am very satisfied with my progress of both playing the piano and reading music. His knowledge and expertise has really helped develop my abilities as a beginning piano player. I look forward to future lessons with Edward. I am confident that he will make me the piano player I would like to be.
