Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any costs in addition to tuition?

When a student begins there is an initial investment of music books which we have on hand for your convenience.

What are the classes like?

Piano classes will cover all aspects of a “sound education”.  Each student will be instructed in the geography of the keyboard, how to play music with optimal sound and comfort (technique), how to listen and enjoy the music genre of their choice, and  as some of the music history behind the genre they like best.

How will I know if my child is ready to begin lessons?

Students are fully prepared for their lessons when they have developed the ability to recognize letters and numbers and demonstrate the capacity to sustain focus for at least a 30-minute lesson.

How much time should be spent practicing?

Practice time recommendations are tailored to the student’s age. For primary students, 10-15 minutes of practice 3-5 times a week is a good starting point. Children aged 7-10 can practice for up to 30 minutes 3 times a week. Remember, you are investing in your child’s future by paying for piano lessons. Consistent practice at home is essential for your child to make meaningful progress.

What if I can't attend my in-studio class?

If a student cannot attend a scheduled in-studio lesson due to illness or family conflict, the lesson may be attended at its regularly scheduled time via ZOOM. The studio must be notified at least 4 hours in advance, please email bemish@greenpinao.com with a “ZOOM request”.  The link to remote lessons is provided in each confirmation email for your convenience.
